Our Centre

At our centre, we believe learning should be a joyful adventure. Welcoming families from the Thornton, Chisholm and Maitland area, our centre provides an inspiring educational environment designed to ignite curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.

Our Rooms

Thoughtfully designed to meet the holistic needs of each child as an individual—rather than simply by age group—every room offers a wealth of opportunities for exceptional care and education. At Astelier, children are free to explore and move between spaces under attentive supervision, immersing themselves in the rich experiences each environment provides.

Nursery suite —Luna Bambini & Stella Bambini

0 - 24 months

Our Nursery Suite offers a warm, nurturing beginning for your child’s early learning journey, with two beautifully designed spaces that gently support each stage of development. Our Luna Bambini (Moon Babies) room provides a calm, homely environment for our youngest children. As children grow and begin to take confident steps into the world, they transition into Stella Bambini (Star Babies), a light-filled, joyful space that celebrates the curiosity, energy, and emerging independence of toddlers.

Together, Luna Bambini and Stella Bambini form a seamless, supportive pathway through your child’s earliest years—offering a safe, loving foundation from which they can explore, grow, and shine.

Toddler suite — Piccolini

2 - 3 years

Endearing and affectionate, “Piccolini” celebrates the energy, movement, and wonder of toddlers in a way that feels both personal and joyful. Our toddler program is thoughtfully designed to support the incredible growth and discovery that happens between the ages of 1 and 3. At this stage, children are developing rapidly—learning to express themselves, explore the world around them, and build strong connections with others. Our nurturing educators create a safe, engaging environment where toddlers feel secure, supported, and curious. Through play-based experiences, consistent routines, and gentle guidance, children build independence, develop language and social skills, and strengthen their physical and cognitive abilities. Our program offers the perfect balance of comfort, challenge, and care—helping your toddler grow with confidence, joy, and a deep sense of belonging.

Preschool rooms — Bottega, Aria & Tale

3 - 4 years

Astelier preschoolers enjoy their days in our vibrant studios—dynamic spaces designed to inspire curiosity, collaboration, and creativity. At the start and end of each day, the doors between the Aria & Tale studio and the Bottega open wide, inviting children to flow freely between environments, follow their interests, and connect with friends. This gentle transition also extends to our natural outdoor spaces, where exploration and discovery continue beneath the open sky.

Prep rooms – La Via

4 - 5 years

Symbolising the child’s journey into school readiness, “La Via” evokes a sense of purpose, progress, and discovery. Our Prep Room offers children a valuable opportunity to build the confidence, skills and independence they need for a smooth and successful transition to Kindergarten. Through play-based learning, children develop early literacy and numeracy skills, expand their vocabulary, and strengthen their ability to communicate ideas and follow instructions. They learn how to work collaboratively, form friendships, manage emotions, and develop a strong sense of self.

Dedicated program facilities

Our spaces are designed to feel beautiful, meaningful and welcoming

01 / 06
Outdoor Play Area

Our expansive outdoor play area will feature a pergola for swings and rope climbing, The Hut for passive activities, a grassy meadow with chickens, vegetable garden, a playing field, and a mud kitchen — all designed to support exploration, sustainability, and wellbeing.

Aria & Tale — Literature, Drama and Music Studio

“Aria” is Italian for melody or air, and “Tale” brings in the world of stories. This poetic pairing suggests a space filled with rhythm, expression, and imagination. At Astelier Children’s Centre, music, drama, and movement are a natural and joyful part of everyday life. These creative experiences help children express themselves, build confidence, and connect with others in meaningful ways. Through singing, storytelling, and imaginative play, children develop emotional awareness, communication skills, and a strong sense of identity and belonging. The arts support both cognitive and physical growth while nurturing creativity, curiosity, and wonder. At Astelier, we see the arts not as extras, but as essential to a rich and holistic early learning experience.

Bottega — STEM Workshop

“Bottega” was historically the artisan’s workshop in Italy. Here, it evokes invention, curiosity, and hands-on discovery in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. At Astelier Children’s Centres, STEM—science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—is explored through hands-on, play-based learning that nurtures curiosity, problem-solving, and creative thinking. Whether building, experimenting, questioning, or observing, children are encouraged to investigate how the world works in ways that are meaningful and engaging. Through open-ended exploration in our maker spaces and natural environments, children develop critical thinking, collaboration, and resilience. STEM at Astelier is not about right answers—it’s about wonder, discovery, and empowering children to be confident, capable thinkers and creators.

Luna Bambini — Nursery Suite

Here, babies are cared for with warmth, attentiveness, and genuine love. We understand how important the early months and years are for building trust, security, and a deep sense of belonging. Our experienced educators create gentle rhythms and responsive routines to meet each baby’s individual needs—whether feeding, sleeping, or cuddling. Soft, welcoming spaces, natural materials, and warm interactions help babies feel safe and connected, while age-appropriate play supports early development in communication, movement, and sensory exploration.

Stella Bambini — Nursery Suite

This room balances comfort with exploration, encouraging children to discover new skills, form friendships, and express themselves through play, music, movement, and sensory experiences. Routines are thoughtfully designed to provide security while inspiring creativity, problem-solving, and a love for learning.

FAQs

How do I enrol my child?

To be added to our waiting list, please complete an application form here. We will contact you if we are able to confirm a position is/will be available for the requested start date.

When a place becomes available for your child, you will be contacted with an offer of enrolment.

How are enrolment fees calculated?

Fees vary depending on your child’s age, booking pattern, and enrolment days. We’re committed to transparency and will share detailed fee information during your enrolment journey.

How many absence days per year is my child entitled to?

Families can receive CCS for up to 42 absence days per financial year.

Can I get Child Care Subsidy (CCS)?

Families may be eligible for government support to reduce the cost of care. The CCS helps cover fees depending on your family’s income, activity level, and other criteria.

Starting next year, the Federal Government is introducing a minimum entitlement of three days of subsidised care per week (72 hours per fortnight) for all CCS-eligible families. If your current CCS approval is for fewer than three days per week (72 hours per fortnight), it will automatically increase to meet this new standard.
Families can get 100 hours (per fortnight) of subsidised child care each fortnight for each child if they:
  • Are caring for an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander child
  • Have more than 48 hours each fortnight of recognised participation
  • Have an exemption or experience exceptional circumstances, or
receive Additional Child Care Subsidy (ACCS) child wellbeing, temporary financial hardship or grandparent payments.

Is there additional Fee Relief available?

Your child may also be eligible for NSW Government’s Start Strong Fee Relief.

The NSW Government also provides additional fee relief for children attending Long Day Care services aged from 3 years and over for the two years before they start Primary School.

This funding is separate to your CCS, and is an additional discount off your weekly Gap fee.

The funding amount in 2026 can be up to $51.26 per week for children 4 years and over in the year before school (born on or before 31 July 2022), or up to $15.38 per week for children 3 years old and over in the second year prior to Primary School (born between 1 August 2022 and 31 July 2023).

Once enrolled, we will provide additional information in regard to the Start Strong Fee Relief Program, your eligibility and applicable forms to complete in order to claim the funding.
